Book Covers that I like:

I've recently had a look at a range of book covers for inspiration so that I can see what makes a successful book cover design. I have chosen two book cover designs that I believe are successful. The first cover is for the book 'Twilight'.
I think that it's successful because the design itself is not cluttered. It contains a simple image that does not clash with the text. Also, there is a balance of dark and brighter tones.
However, I believe that the message behind the design makes it a strong book cover. The message behind the person holding an apple represents 'forbidden fruit'- linking this to Bella and Edwards relationship.

The second cover design is for the book ' Wonder'.
I think that this design is successful because the image and text work well together. Also, I think that the illustration is successful because the face is blank- suggesting that a persons appearance is not important.

Packaging Briefcase- Character Designs:

Along with my packaging designs, I've decided that I want to produce collectables. I want to do this as young children like to collect toys and I think that this will encourage this target audience to keep wanting the product.  Each collectable is going to be based off a benefit of dark chocolate so that there that the product can be educational based. So far, I have designed three characters. Hetty Heart, Merlin Moon and Sally Sun. I thought that giving them fun names would work for young audiences.  After producing my character designs, I've started to apply colour to them. I think that the primary colour scheme works as children find bold colours more eye-catching.  For the next stages, I'm still going to continue to create more character designs so that I can develop them even further. Also, I'm going to continue to produce more designs so I create more collectables. As I've designed characters based on the benefits of eating dark chocolate, Veronica advised m...

Packaging Briefcase- Sally Sun Packaging In Colour:

For this piece of work, I've now started to add colour to my designs that are for the front of my packaging. I'm happy with the colour scheme as even though they're all bold colours, I believe that they work well together.  To improve this design, I think that I should try experimenting with a different colour scheme for the logo as I think it's blend in too well with the rest of the packaging. Also, I may try and apply more uses of pattern to see if that make my design even more effective.
