Penguin Book Project- Rathlin Island: Mood board and colour palettes

After producing some illustrations and thumbnails, I've now started to think about colour schemes. I've gathered together a variety of images that link to the books context. Such as the animals and flowers that Dara sees when he goes to Rathlin Island. Based on these images, I used the eye drop tool on Illustrator to select colours from these images. most of the colours are quite neutral so I think that I need to try and create a palette with stronger uses of colour.

I'm happy with the colour scheme as even though they're all bold colours, I believe that they work well together.  To improve this design, I think that I should try experimenting with a different colour scheme for the logo as I think it's blend in too well with the rest of the packaging. Also, I may try and apply more uses of pattern to see if that make my design even more effective.
